Decommissioning and remediation projects can produce large hazardous waste streams, especially where old equipment must be cleaned before dismantling or large areas of ground need to be re-mediated.

 

Waste Minimisation Services (WMS) use a range of techniques to treat solid and liquid waste streams. Contaminants from solids can be leached out and then the solids pressed to reduce the volume for disposal. The resulting liquids can be filtered and passed through media beds to remove contaminants, allowing for onsite disposal to sewer. Our specialist media can be tuned to absorb the specific contaminants present.

 

Our passive treatment systems can treat large volumes of waste, cost effectively and safely. 

How it Works
 

Large scale decommissioning projects require a pragmatic approach to the waste generated that takes into account environmental, safety and economic issues.

Using the WMS modular treatment elements we can design a treatment solution to suit the the specific waste problem. Our aim is to maximise treatment at site thereby reducing the volume of waste for off-site disposal, reducing risk and overall costs.

Depending on the nature of the waste stream we can deploy a combination of techniques including solids filtration, filter pressing, catalytic oxidation and chemical absorption with our specialist blended medias. Hazardous materials are removed from the waste stream and volumes for disposal reduced by up to 90%, delivering safer, cleaner and more cost effective waste treatment solutions.
